windsurfcheck.com Oregon North Coast Windsurf and Kiting Spots
The North Oregon Coast is exposed to strong NW swells, closer to
Portland and more fickle in nature than the Central and South Coasts.
That being said, sailing the North Coast is very rewarding. Manzanita
can blow 30 knots when most of the region is struggling to reach low
20s. Oceanside will have the best waves. Roads End will be the best
bump and jump. The bays provide great options for winter sailing. Most
spots are very easy to get to.
The region provides great surfing too: Seaside Cove (south wind
protection), Short Sands, Manzanita, Barview, Cape Meares (south wind
protection) Oceanside, Cape Lookout (fog & north wind protection),
Pacific City, Neskowin and the Lincoln City area.
The area provides non sailors plenty of activities as well. Kayaking,
Stand up paddle, Horseback Riding, Crabbing, Hiking, Sandlake ATVing.
