Andrew Williams is a partner in Barger & Wolen’s Los Angeles office,
and has been with the firm since 1997. His practice focuses primarily
on the defense of companies and individuals, with a particular
emphasis on the defense of lawsuits against insurers, health plans,
and companies and individuals embroiled in business disputes. During
his career, Mr. Williams also has defended clients in the areas of
professional negligence, including the defense of legal malpractice
and insurance broker liability cases, and has experience representing
clients seeking the return of money seized under federal civil
forfeiture laws. Having litigated hundreds of cases in state and
federal courts in California, and with experience in jury trials,
bench trials, arbitrations, and appeals, Mr. Williams is uniquely
poised to offer advice and counseling to companies and individuals who
face the prospects of defending lawsuits, as well as provide
exceptional legal representation to those who are sued. Mr. Williams
prides himself on his ability to simplify and efficiently resolve
complex legal problems to the benefit of his clients, whether through
litigation or mediation. He has spoken at and authored materials for
insurance industry conferences. Most recently, Mr. Williams spoke at
the Twin Cities Claim Conference on the issue of avoiding bad faith
liability. He was selected a 2009 Southern California Rising Star by
Super Lawyers. Mr. Williams is admitted to practice before the United
States District Court for the Central, Southern, Eastern and Northern
Districts of California, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
