the songs have an atmosphere that I never heard again in later Foo Fighters albums.
at first glance i thought you said your brother was learning disabled and a fagboy. good story though.
Well to be fair, it'd probably be worse had it not shattered.
Möndals sjukhus. They do a lot of orthopedic stuff.. Got transferred there when I broke my leg. It around 10min from the stadium.
Lousy Smarch weather.
That was in March, apparently he didn't break his ankle but it was bad enough for him to need surgery in January
I thought it he broke it playing basketball they had a video on it on YouTube on their channel
"Woo" If he had died that would have been his last word. Perfect.
Yeah fucking everyone was there, it was crazy :D And I had to fucking work. :(
He actually broke it during the first set of that concert source: i went another shot to see the crutches
No one boo'd, it was the guitar feedback making that noise
Unless Microsoft royally fucks up somehow, my next phone will prolly be their Windows 10 flagship late this year. And those awesome Lumia cameras are good part of that.
Lol, Full Sail. So many friends broke and in debt because of that school.
Hahahaha holy diver!
Taylor usually sings a couple songs at every foo fighters gig.
Now it's a BURGER TOWN!
Wait..is..is she with Pete Wentz? Ninja edit: After some Google fu I discovered that she was with him. Huh. TIL.
I think we're making up days now. I already hate my 8 day week with Katilsday and 13th month of dreaded Smarch.
Great bass rifts, great album.
That makes me so happy to watch. Thanks for finding it. Dave Grohl is the fucking man!
slim jimmy did the same thing about a week ago and no one seems to care...

Although I'm not a huge linkin park fan. I have go give that man some respect. That's some fucking commitment right there!
That's a good point. I think it's two-sided though. On one hand it seems like an asshole move to deny your fans a show (especially since they never rescheduled), but at the same time it makes sen...

anyone up for GIFing his bail?
Uhhh...Dave? keeps playing
Taylor Hawkins also deserves some praise for taking over till Dave got back
> Show up 15 minutes early every time, sober. Ask questions. This is the key to many jobs. Key word: sober.

Pretty talented band to keep the music going and end properly while that happened as well.

This guy's answer is correct.

Yea that album came out 20 years ago
Thank you. It healed well, and oddly I'm actually going to a show tonight by the same band I saw Halloween when I broke it.. Let's hope for no repeats haha
I don't know if enough people know that song...

The first and only rule as a band is dont stop playing if something bad happens or even if someone in the band just fucks up. The show must go on, which Dave Grohl takes to the letter.
Great song, do they play it live sometimes?

Yeah, he runs through a pretty heavy distortion/gain pedal in that song, so his pickups are really sensitive at that point.

I remember the lead singer of linkin park Chester Bennington broke his ankle i believe a day before a concert a few months ago and instead of cancelling they still performed the whole show.
Nobody knows you're a dog on the internet.
He came from Nirvana to play back on stage.
Yeah, I've been trying to find it. Nothing so far. Edit: found it. http://youtu.be/ISXz9cnevWI
He's the classest act guy around.
How does one go about doing that professionally?

When did this happen
Easy for you to say... your leg has never been broken
Oh man I just googled her and she has a kid named Bronx Mowgli Wentz. Guess we know what movie she liked as a kid.
Yeah everyone came down on her for blaming the band... but ultimately it was the drummers fault. Still, she might could have explained it a little better, or just sucked it up and said we played ...
She was caught lip syncing because a song she already performed that night played instead of the one she was expecting.
And now he has to do it every show. Maybe they should take turn with the bandmembers.
This is it. You go to concerts for memories... you can hear music anywhere, but hearing it live is a memory. He gave them all one of the best memories they could ever ask for. They got their mone...
To be fair, the drummer usually queues the backing tracks. And if you think she's the only one who lip-syncs on television, you're wrong.
There are barely any other cameras/phones recording either, it's like everyone just agreed beforehand that they should leave the video to this guy
It was supposed to be a live performance, but when this happened it was immediately obvious that she was lip-syncing. What happened is that the drummer controls the pre-recorded tracks, and he qu...

I sheared off a portion of my tibial plateau Halloween night. Now I have a bunch of new metal in my knee.. Apparently it's a tough break.

I bet the fans were X Static
He said after “I may not be able to walk or run but I can still play guitar and scream.”
Not true on the tuning position.... The goal isn't to have it sound best in one spot or the other. It is to have a consistent and accurate reproduction of what is coming off the stage. Yes ther...
Here they are preforming that song after. At least he had a sense of humour about it.
They (the city of Gothenburg) actually have a small hospital staff on site or close by for concerts like this.
He tripped, he didnt just walk off.

Yeah, neither hospitals are that close. They probably had a makeshift hospital close by just for the concert.

They played to 86,000 at Wembley Stadium in England in 2008.
She married Diana Ross's son and had another kid.
Tibia is the second strongest weightbearing bone in the body next to the femur. And breaking your femur is a life-threatening injury.

what do you mean by that

Tibia. That's a no-shit bone.
Well... it's an impressive break, but the fibula is a dumb bone.
This was the highlight of her career lol.
I'll stick around I'll stick around
you know that bone to the right of the fibula? the wrench shaped one? i fractured mine before (not a complete break tho) and i had to have a cast for 2 months i wonder how long he'll be in a ca...
R.I.P. Your cock.
Anyone have a video of him first coming back on stage after the fall?
which part do you think is creepy? i didnt find it weird but i only watched the beginning lol
Yeah, usually if you have the right equipment you know where to stand. Good point
I'm not that high quality in person
With 50,000 people in one place, it pays to have the "hospital" ready at the event for things like this.
Instead, he's learning to walk again.
Despite that being what he felt, I think this show was even increbily more awesome than it was a 'normal' show. These people will then say "I was at THAT show, that one where DG broke his leg! IT...
That's what you get for calling yourself "The Edge."
They can remove the cast at the hospital, the cast just ensures no further damage is done.
Fibula, DO YOU EVEN LIFT?
Wow, I had forgotten all about that.....I wonder what she's up to now??
I could say a DSLR with a good shotgun mic will get the same, but this looks like a great place to stand, and since the zoom is roughly smooth and digital, it's a handicam with it's built-in mic ...
Now it's a ghost town.
Stupid fibula needs to get its shit together.
Ha this like the complete opposite of Drake hurting his leg. Dave actually sings and still finishes the show. Drake falls and gets carried away by his crew. Done for the night, Friggin hilarious ...
what the hell did he think was gonna happen?
In my day performers took falls off the stage BECAUSE of the pain pills. Not the other way around.
Well that wasn't creepy at all.
It's always the weak ass fibula that has to break.
Too many fresh pots
I bet that was scary as hell for the people who couldn't see him when he didn't get up. Like, you maybe just watched a famous guy get killed.
They would put a cast on him without getting an xray done?
I was there. He went up against a wall and slammed his leg back into position and used audio cable to keep it from shifting. He finished the concert in this state.
> How awesome would it have been if Dave just came up after he fell > going FULL RECOVERY!
It looks like his foot slips on the monitor cables. It is pretty much the only thing it could be, unless someone drooled on the floor.
The worst part is she blamed the band at the end of the show for getting the song wrong... She was terrible.
I am the edgeeeeeeeee
They should learn from their rap colleagues
Yeah, I would say this has to more with positioning and less with the camera.
Get Grohl a fresh pot! Pronto!
The man descended down from heaven to rock everyone's cock off. I was there, promise, so it has to be true.
The band should have finished the song with a "Where's Dave?", sing a long.
That "whoo" just before he steps off will be my new ringtone.
It was a pretty bad break too.. what a trooper. xray image https://twitter.com/foofighters/status/609496036533383168/photo/1
This is going to be a popular TIL in about 20 years.
"Edge!" "I love you too, random citizen!" "No, no... The EDGE!!"
Would you like to see me try? ...why are you running away?
They recently played a show to roughly 60,000 people in Ireland
I guess he should have learn to fly.
That's not how the Internet wants to remember it, ok?!
oh man, that was awful. Respect for the players though
First The Edge, now Dave Grohl. These rock stars need to learn how to stage dive properly.
Not true. There are videos of him coming back on stage with the cast already on. The guy on stage with him was only there to stabilize his foot while he performed. Grohl said as much in a speech ...

When in doubt, vamp it out.
Too old for that shit
What a fucking living legend this guy is. It almost sounds like you can hear his pick on the strings in the first video.
Yep, I know. That's awesome that he was able to!
He did come back though
That hadda hurt.
That's dedication right there.
Video and sound quality are perfect. I would love to know what camera captured this.
I'm happy to see the cameraman puts the camera down and helps him instead of getting a good shot of him on the floor.
Seeing how this happened where Twist and Shout was named "The Stadium Breaker" after Bruce Springsteen played it and ended up cracking the foundation... does that make Monkey Wrench "The Leg Brea...

He didn't have enough space
I don't think he actually went to the hospital. I think he was treated backstage and came back on 15 minutes later. I assume he went to the hospital afterwards though.
That is some amazing quality for a live concert recording. What a bad ass.
Did they wait while he went to the hospital and came back that same day?
Just a couple of minutes after he fell off.
This was after the fall but before he got a cast and sat down. I heard that he was only away for 15 minutes.
~50000 were at the concert.
So was this before or after he had the cast put on and did a few songs sitting down?
Oh no, I totally admire him for it. Even if he couldn't come back, that's clearly not his fault. :)
He did do his best to give his fans a show though, which I really admire him for. Most artists wouldn't have continued the concert.
That has to be disappointing for him. To have all those people there, and then to feel like you let them down. He didn't, but I would feel that way. I'd feel so bad, all that money they spent to ...
Video for reference
He's now learning to walk again.

Dave Grohl is even better than The Edge at falling!
Damn that's a lot of people!
Here is his speech from after the incident.
Maybe he should... learn to fly
*and still finishes concert.
