Unofficially starting his Production as early as age 14 in Valley
High’s computer lab (later reforming that project and mindset as
Impasse Theory in July 2014) Scotty Wilson was inspired to Produce
again in about 2011 during somewhat of a crisis. He blends
industrialized sound, along with instrumentation with usually powerful
beats, Naustro’s style is one in a million. What Naustro lacks in
tradition he makes up for in structure and instrumentals. He clings to
being truly and purely electronic. More of an expression than anything
else, his music builds up over time and tends to be chromatic. Not as
cerebral as a lot of melodic acts however, Naustro does not fail to
impress in his own way. He mixes most of his music live and on the
spot with certain DAWS, not liking to mix sample by sample. Give
Naustro a try, if only for the interesting live and traditional mixes.
Altered and distorted samples, usually heavy beats (mixed with real
drum sampling), and plenty of room for new things, Naustro is a
Downtempo/Downbeat artist from LaFayette, AL who’s style tends to go
all over the place. He has been making his robust yet simple outcome
music since mid 2011, which is a clear clinical sound, with some
simple or otherwise chromatic undertones and focus on repetitive,
ambient, chops, or scales (but strong timbres) that branch out within
the track, for a motivated yet down played sound. His music is about
getting in the zone, and staying there. His older material has a more
“driven” aesthetic to it while later on he made songs that were
more artsy, sometimes with less beat intentionally. Naustro (or Scotty
Wilson as is his real name) started making his music in 2011 sometime.
He is an Producer and does not use equipment. Whether or not made for
all out gigs altogether or not, his song Lay Down The Taste was on
Amsterdam’s Dance.FM. Naustro’s music tends to be repetitive in
the sense of beat and the base sampling is concerned, but even when he
started, albums like Digital Collection Vol One (when he was named Dj
Dremora) show off a great deal of festive layers to his music. His
music tends to not focus on a specific point in the mix but branches
out into a mixture of multiple drums and grooves, and sometimes even
some complex instrumentation. Naustro may be one of the most
unconventional and Identifiable yet obscure artists there are, but a
lot of his work is his own while at the same time sounding somewhat
traditional and he is proud to count himself among them. His style is
his own, and makes it work for the listener. Tending to go back and
forth with his style, it is still his own. This music tends to exist
on the fringe of idea but maintains a theme. He announced on April
25th 2015 after a long MIA from all his projects that all of his music
would be available free on Bandcamp as Digital Download, which isn’t
surprising since almost half of all his songs from 2011 to 2014 were
free anyway. He asked to be dropped from his Parent Label to start
anew in 2015. As is the case with Impasse Theory, he is a big
supporter of streaming services, free digital distribution, and the
tried and true Compact Disk.
