The Bell Jar is probably one of my favourite books ever. On The Road was also a good read. I can't find time to read Master and Margarita and I've heard it's also worth reading.

Wilkie Collins and Edith Wharton are great. Also highly recommend "The Moonstone" (Collins) and "The Buccaneers" (Wharton). Like you don't have enough to get through... :)
