I use a rather inexpensive u-lock from mongoose. It's an adequate bike lock for a reasonable price. However, it's definitely not on the level of Kryptonite. I'm been using for 3 years theft free....

I’d suggest that if you always lock your bike in the same place (like I do) then why not just leave the lock attached to the hoop, ready for the next day? Beats carrying 2.2kg of steel around.
