Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, DJ Chase was destined to be a DJ. He
grew up the son of a roots and classical reggae DJ from Guyana, which
exposed him to turntables at a very young age. Chase first
experimented with DJing at the age of 10, and by the age of 12 showed
enough promise to convince his father to purchase him his first pair
of turntables. Chase’s DJ style has been heavily influenced by DJ
Red Alert, Funkmaster Flex, and the late great Grandmaster DJ Roc
Raida. His scratching ability, song selection and blending
capabilities are what separates him from all other DJs. Chase spins
hip-hop, rock, reggae, EDM, 70’s, 80’s pop mixed with today’s
newest music, making him a favorite DJ amongst all generations. Honing
his skills as a “bedroom DJ” and doing local house and high school
parties helped to lay the foundation for Chase’s skill set. He then
began spinning fraternity parties at NYU for several years. A mere 3
months after moving to Washington DC, DJ Chase rapidly became one of
the most sought after DJs on the U Street Corridor, spinning at hot
spots such as Bar 7, Indulj, The Islander, Lost Society, and Queen
Makeda, in addition to many private and corporate events including
exclusive parties for former NBA player Patrick Ewing, Omega Psi
Phi’s Centennial Anniversary Party, Campaign for America’s Future,
etc. All the while, maintaining his weekly residencies at Lounge of
Three, 1920, and Tap & Parlour every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday,
respectively. Since returning to NYC, Chase has spun parties at 49
Grove, Parlor Lounge, the DL and Rustik Lounge. As a professional DJ,
DJ Chase’s goal is to provide high quality entertainment to the
masses. Over the past three years, Chase has created more than a dozen
mix-tapes. All of these mix-tapes can be downloaded from
